Unique Heat Transfer

AMSO’s  process uses a unique technology to distribute heat throughout the rock formation. Faster heat transfer in our process enables fewer wells, thus reducing land surface disturbance.  The process requires less energy, which reduces costs as well as the environmental impact on air, land and water alike.

Protection of Ground Water

Our plan targets the illite-rich oil shale layer, hundreds of feet below the aquifer. This ensures maximum protection of the ground water.

We will maintain geological rock barriers between the target layer and the ground water

True In-Situ Process is Resource Efficient

Our process requires very little imported water, since we have no mining, crushing or spent shale disposal needs.

We believe we can reach a ratio of less than one barrel of water for every barrel of oil produced

Unique Panel Design Minimizes Land Disturbance

Our  retort panels will achieve high resource recovery in the illite shale. By using horizontal wells, we disturb only 10% of the surface area
